The Brief
This refurbishment project involved repainting the glulam beams above a filled swimming pool and therefore Cherwell District Council required a contractor who could deliver in a challenging environment.
This project was highly specialised and required careful planning and execution.
Our team worked quick and methodically to safely erect the birdcage style scaffolding over the top of the filled swimming pool. Once the scaffolding over the swimming pool was complete, this allowed the meticulous task of repainting the glulam beams to commence.
The beams were given a fresh layer of paint to restore the shine to the wood and to add a level of moisture protection to prolong the life of the beams. After the repainting of the beams was finished, our team began the difficult task of taking down all the scaffolding.
The Challenges
A bird cage scaffolding was erected directly over the swimming pool, adding an extra layer of complexity and precision to the project. Keeping the pool filled helped to protect the pool shell from any structural damage whilst ensuring the water was protected from contamination. Our team took every precaution to ensure safety and quality while working in this challenging environment.
The Outcome
This complex undertaking required meticulous planning, expert execution, and a strong focus on safety. With the scaffolding now removed, the refreshed beams stand as a testament to the skill and dedication of our team.
Client Testimonial
"I was extremely happy with the performance of Domino Commercial Interiors (DCI) on this project. DCI managed any challenges very professionally on site and did everything they could to mitigate any effect on the project. In fact, the contractual completion date was achieved, the work was completed to the required standard and without any H&S instances. DCI's communication and interaction with the Centre's Management and their team and the Contract Administrator was exceptional. All in all, a very successful project undertaken by a very professional and competent contractor. If circumstances permit, I will certainly consider giving DCI future work opportunities."- Marcus Lingley, Buildings & Project Officer, Cherwell District Council
