The Brief

The Holiday Inn’s vision is to become the primary source of hospitality in the communities it seeks to serve by providing their customers with the best possible experience they can gain and by becoming good neighbours.  Domino Interiors collaborated with The Holiday Inn Express in Sheffield for a large scale fit-out project for 161 rooms, as well as the reception area, dining areas, meeting rooms, bar, restaurant, kitchen and laundry facilities. The project required extensive furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) delivered on time and to a strict budget.

Our Approach

Our Approach

A full FF&E package was delivered that included carpets, curtains, all fixed and loose furniture for the bedrooms.

This package also included the installation of the bar, restaurant, kitchen and laundry facilities. All of this had to reflect the hotelier’s familiar brand style. In addition to this, loose furniture was required for the corporate meeting rooms, as well as finer details such as bedroom linen, artwork, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans.

The Challenges

Time was of the essence at the beginning of the job due to a previously selected partner going into administration. This put the whole construction programme at risk and as a result the timeframe was significantly condensed. During the project there was also a delivery of case goods from Italy which had to be rejected due to poor quality. This put even more pressure on the project delivery programme to ensure that everything was completed to a high standard. This meant that our team had to have a complete re-look and re-organisation of the work schedule to ensure that everything could be completed to the desired quality.

The Outcome

The hotelier was very pleased with how adaptable, flexible and constructive our team can be under pressure. Our team’s hard work resulted in the project being on time and within budget. This reflected our signature approach of ‘get on with it and get it sorted’.
